The CBR theory exam (theorie-examen) is the official Dutch driving theory test, run by the CBR. For a car licence (category B) it covers hazard perception, traffic knowledge and road insight, and you must pass it before you can take your practical driving test.
Under the 2026 format, the CBR car theory exam has 50 scored multiple-choice questions (plus a couple of trial questions that don't count). You get 30 minutes. TheoryGo's mock exams mirror this exact 50-question, 30-minute format.
You need at least 44 correct answers out of 50 — about 88%, so you can afford a maximum of six mistakes. TheoryGo tracks your mock-exam scores over time so you can see when you're consistently above the pass line.
No. Like every legitimate study app, TheoryGo uses exam-style practice questions written to match the official CBR topics and format — the CBR does not publish its live question bank. Our 1,280+ questions cover the same subjects you'll be tested on.
Yes. TheoryGo is fully available in English, Dutch, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian — questions, answer options and explanations included. It's ideal for internationals and expats preparing for the Dutch exam.

Hazard perception (gevaarherkenning) is the part of the CBR exam that tests whether you can spot a developing danger in traffic and decide whether to brake, ease off the accelerator or do nothing. TheoryGo includes dedicated, timed hazard-perception practice.
